FUNDAMENTALISME SEBAGAI FENOMENA AGAMA

Abstract: Fundamentalism as a religious phenomenon, it is realized that it can not be separated from social, culture and even politic phenomenon as a symptom of multidimensional Islamic resurrection. Thus, historical or epistemology analysis are seemingly overlapping related to these phenomena.
Fundamentalism was born and grown because of the modernism failure in answering life problems. Therefore. this ism provides other options to fill its emptiness religion values that is caused by westernization, by offering Islamic ideal concept by which al-Quran and al-Hadist as the sources like figured out by Mohammad (prophet) and salaf as-shalihin generation.
When religious fundamentalism is set up peacefully, perhaps it will charm and it will reduce about the flame. Otherwise, when it is shown up in “hard face”, it will emerge such resistance, curling and even a left handed empathy from the advocate of Islamic mainstream when the heavy punishment intended to the subjects because of their ways causing human values and existences are destroyed. Moreover, it will stretch Islam itself and also the stigma of Islam is Terrorism is getting considerable although this community excuse inside ideology of fighting for the right and the wrong side (amar ma’ruf nahi mungkar).
