The effort to bring about the development of Prosperous Family is one of the development programs aiming to improving the living standard and community prosperity. One of the obstacles is that the majority of community below the poverty threshold lives in the village area and work as farmers. Here, the classical problems frequently encountered in the village community is the high rate of population growth, besides the low quality of human resources, low level of income, and high burden of the family’s dependents. Furthermore, there is also the shift in the level of achievement of prosperous family in the community.
The research was conducted in Serut Village, Sub District Panti, Jember Regency, which aims to find out the influence of education level, income level, and number of family dependants towards the achievement of prosperous family. The variables involved in this research are: education level, income level, and the number of family dependants which are categorized as independent variable, while the dependent variable is the Prosperous Family. The number of population in the village is 2018, and the sample was taken from 100 respondents, which are the farmers. The sample collection method was using Proportional Random Sampling. The data collection method was using Cross Tabulation analysis and Multiple Linier Regression Analysis.
The research showed that the education level, income level, and the number of family dependants have no significant influence towards the level of achievement of prosperous family due to the difference in social condition and mindset of the community in the research area.
Based on the research, it is suggested to the Government of Jember Regency to (1) provide the expansion of work and business opportunities, improvement of agricultural extensions and workshop in order to improve the community income, especially the village community, (2) improve the extension and service quality of the Keluarga Berencana (KB) or Family Planning in order to suppress the population growth, (3) evenly distribute the means and infrastructure supporting the education in the village area.
